Biden’s proposed gun control measures have been met with criticism from conservatives. Especially those who argue that his policies punish law-abiding gun owners… while failing to address the root causes of gun violence in liberal cities. 

Cities with the highest rates of gun violence are located in Democrat-controlled states. Biden needs to know that stricter gun laws alone will not solve the problem.

Biden Punishes America with Gun Control, While Liberal Cities are Plagued by Crime

Critics of Biden’s gun control proposals argue that they go too far in limiting Second Amendment rights… with some even suggesting that they could lead to confiscation. 

They also point out that the vast majority of gun crimes are committed with illegally obtained firearms. This means that new restrictions on legal gun owners are unlikely to significantly impact the overall level of gun violence…

According to Fox, any of Biden’s policies may be contributing to the rise of crime in liberal cities. Right now, Biden has called for reduced funding for police departments. Moreover, he has been critical of tough-on-crime measures… which some argue have emboldened criminals and led to an increase in violent crime.

While there is a need to address gun violence in the United States… Biden’s proposed gun control measures may not be the most effective way to do so.

Biden to Unveil Executive Order Increasing Background Checks on Gun Sales

Biden is set to unveil a new executive order aimed at increasing background checks for gun sales. 

The President has made gun control a top priority. Moreover, he sees background checks as a critical way to reduce gun violence in the United States.

The new executive order will reportedly include several measures. This would be aimed at strengthening the current background check system. These include increasing funding for: 

• The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to improve enforcement
• Providing more resources for states to improve their reporting of criminal history… and mental health records
