The war between Russia and Ukraine goes on…
Yes, Russia may be on the offensive most of the time. But if you think Ukraine is the only one having a tough time, then think again. Russia is suffering as much as Ukraine in this war.
We may have seen the casualties increase in Ukraine. Death tolls rise every day. Most residents flee from their homes… while others stay put to fight against the Russian army.
On the other hand, Russia continues to exhaust its resources. We’ve seen them suffer multiple equipment and infrastructure losses. But aside from that, Putin also fired his top commanders over war failures. Despite being on the offensive, Russia continues to lose its forces faster than ever.
Putin’s Inner Circle Losing Its Power?
The war in Ukraine has persisted for more than three months. Western defense officials have repeatedly said Putin’s ambitions are flagging.
A few weeks ago, Russia removed commanders from its ranks over poor performances in the war. Leaders in Russia’s military are reportedly suspending operations… after Moscow wasn’t able to make significant advances.
Other than that, it also showed that the Russian warship in the Moskva sunk. The warship was a notorious vessel involved in the Snake Island exchange. These exchanges happened during the early days of the war.
The U.K. Ministry of Defense claims that Russia’s military and security sectors have “a culture of cover-ups and scapegoating.”
They believe that Russian officials will find it hard to focus on the war. The Ministry said, “Many officials involved in the invasion of Ukraine will likely be increasingly distracted by efforts to avoid personal culpability for Russia’s operational setbacks.”
Then the Ministry added, “It will be difficult for Russia to regain initiative under these conditions.”
Meanwhile, Ben Wallace, the British defense secretary, claims that Russia’s military leaders are terrified of being purged. He said, “There is a point of tension in the system. As much as they respect the former KGB man [Putin] for being a strong leader, the Russian general staff [will] be made scapegoats for his mess.”
The exact number of Russian casualties remains unclear. But Ukraine forces claimed that more than 28,000 Russian troops had been killed in the war.
Russia-Ukraine War Gives the World an Important Lesson
According to Fox, Russia’s aggression and the Ukrainian’s courage taught us a lesson…
War is not a preferred way to settle differences, but it may be the only way to ensure they are not settled for you. This lesson implies that it’s time to strengthen collective defenses.
Joint military exercises between like-minded nations should be held to improve their capabilities. More importantly, doing this will help countries defend themselves from any potential invasions.
The Ukrainian people’s determination can inspire the world to cherish their freedoms.
