Elon Musk has officially purchased Twitter, despite the dems’ opposition.
Musk plans on using the platform to promote free speech… which could result in some big changes for the site.
This news surprises many, but it will be interesting to see what Musk does with his new purchase.
Elon Musk Officially Owns Twitter
Elon Musk took control of Twitter and fired its top executives. This puts one of the leading platforms for global discourse in the hands of the world’s richest man.
It was reported that Musk fired the following chairpersons after the acquisition:
- Chief Executive Officer – Parag Agrawal
- Chief Financial Officer – Ned Segal
- Head of Legal Policy, Trust and Safety – Vijaya Gadde
The move came after Musk closed his $44 billion deal to takeover over Twitter. This was when he initially signed an agreement to acquire the company. Musk had accused the three of misleading him and investors over the number of fake accounts on the platform.
The billionaire said he bought Twitter because we need to have a common digital town square. One where beliefs can be debated without violence erupting.
In a tweet, Musk said he was buying Twitter “because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square… where a wide range of beliefs can be debated healthily.”
He even shared a picture of himself socializing at a coffee bar at Twitter headquarters.
Left’s Monopoly on Twitter Broken, Conservatives Gain Thousand Followers
Elon Musk’s takeover has broken the left’s monopoly on Twitter. This is a win for free speech. Those who have been censored in the past will now be able to speak freely.
Liberals are rattled by this development, which takes away their ability to censor others.
Fox News Reporter Tucker Carlson believes that Musk will be the first person to expose Twitter’s algorithms and systems. He said, “What is Twitter’s algorithm exactly? We don’t have any real idea because no one’s seen it. We will see now. Twitter will no longer be a publicly held company. It will be a privately held company, and Musk has said he will show us exactly how it works. The algorithm has effectively existed to censor conservatives based on their political views. “
He added, “Now, in one day, people who could not speak will be allowed to speak. The playing field will be transparent, which is a prerequisite for fairness. If you want to laugh on social media, you can.”
On the other hand, our patriot leaders are getting a better hold of Twitter because of Musk’s acquisition…
According to data research company Memetica, conservative accounts gained thousands of additional followers on Twitter 24 hours before Elon Musk took over the company.
- Kari Lake, the Republican gubernatorial candidate in Arizona, gained 18,000 followers on Friday alone – up 600% from her standard rate of new follows
- Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., gained 18,679 followers over the same period – a 1,200% increase over her standard rate
- Commentator Candace Owens also received 3,700 followers at 300% of her standard rate
Hopefully, Musk would reveal the algorithms as they were before the takeover. He should expose the previous employees for their censorship based on politics. Someone should sue them if he finds it could have affected an election.
