Despite being in the democrat party, we all know that Senator Joe Manchin is not twisted and heartless as most liberals are…
Manchin has always been against Biden’s irrational spending plans. He’s consistent in refusing to help the dems with their Build Back Better bill.
The Dems are doing everything in their power to implement this bill. They’re prioritizing to spend half a trillion dollars on:
- Climate change
- Creating a universal pre-K program
- Extending the child tax credit
- Home health care, paid family leave, and housing
However, Republicans and Manchin believe that the bill diverts too much money to goals that aim to rework the social safety net in America and advance progressive liberal goals.
Manchin shared his thoughts during an interview on Fox News last December. He said, “I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation. I just can’t. I’ve tried everything humanly possible. I can’t get there… This is a no.”
We all know that Manchin isn’t the only Democrat who stands against their party. In modern times, we already had some Dems who switched to being Republicans:
- Strom Thurman
- Ben Campbell
- Richard Shelby
Former Democrat Rep. Jeff Van Drew – who is now a Republican – urges Manchin to consider switching parties. Van Drew shared his thoughts during an interview. He said, “I didn’t leave the Democratic party. It left me.”
Then showed the bigger picture about the dem’s massive spending plan. He said, “I think that Joe [Manchin] has to take a look and see all of the other things that [the Democrats] want to do. Look at the BBB, what I call the Big Bad Bill… Look at what it does: It goes into people’s [financial] accounts.”
“They’re going to hire 80,000 IRS agents and spend $800 billion. You have to be kidding me on the things that they want to do to change America,” he added.
Van Drew believes that the Build Back bill will only waste tons of federal funds. He’s certain that dem’s intentions aren’t sincere in helping Americans… since he’s been an insider in the liberal party for a while.
The dems seem agitated with Senator Manchin’s decision to go against them, and the support he’s getting from the Republican party to do so.
Psaki shared her thoughts on Manchin’s decision to reject the Build Back Better plan. She said, “They represent a sudden and inexplicable reversal in his position and breach of his commitment to the President and the Senator’s colleagues in the House and Senate.”
Then the demo-rat added, “Just as Senator Manchin Reversed his position on Build Back Better, we will continue to press him to see if he will reverse his position yet again, to honor his prior commitments and be true to his word.”
Dem Senator Chuck Schumer also believes that he and the other dems can still convince Manchin to support their terrible bill. He said, “Even after Christmas and New Year’s break, we’ve been talking constantly [to Joe Manchin]. Not just me. But everyone in the 48 Democratic senators who support [the Build Back Better Bill].”
The twisted dems may be persistent in regaining Manchin’s trust. But our patriot leaders are willing to welcome him into the party anytime.
Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell is open to the idea. He said, “He doesn’t fit well over there, but that is a decision ultimately that he has to make. We certainly welcome him to join us if he was so inclined.”
Senator Rand Paul is also willing to work alongside Joe Manchin. “We have an extra chair for him at lunch. It’s sitting there waiting for him. We are ready to see him,” he said in an interview.
As of now, Manchin seems to be an important piece for the success or downfall of the Build Back Better bill. Both the Republicans and dems are courting him in an attempt to sway his opinion to one side or the other.
Let’s just hope that Manchin will follow his true conservative heart in the end…
