Joe Manchin Refuses to Help

Wondering what happened to that $2000 check?

Despite President Trump pushing for it, and Biden’s claim that the checks would be going out ASAP if dems won in Georgia, there’s still every chance that you’ll end up not getting the check…

Why? Just ask dem senator Joe Manchin.

Just days after the Georgia election, Manchin decided to announce that he was opposed to sending out the checks, to giving the average American some real relief in this unprecedented time…

In fact, Mancin, worth an estimated $5 million doesn’t think you should get a thing.

“I don’t know where in the hell $2,000 came from…  I swear to God I don’t”, said millionaire Manchin in a shocking interview with the Washington Post.

It’s not exactly a new number…

From President Trump’s push to secure the checks to outright claims of support from dems like Biden and Pelosi, you’d have to be completely out of touch to not know about the $2000 payments – and the millions of Americans they’d benefit.

Manchin’s argument against the checks is barely coherent… he’s claiming that he doesn’t want to give checks to people who don’t deserve them, while at the same time pretending it’s about protecting the economy…

First of all, he’s got the whole thing wrong. The checks aren’t a handout, they’re a way to protect Americans – and stimulate the economy!

The fact is that when President Trump authorized the $1200 Economic Impact Payments last year, just about every cent went straight back into the economy. Struggling Americans affected by the pandemic were able to pay urgent bills… even start companies of their own.

So when Manchin claims that he wants to protect the economy, he’s either lying – or has no idea what he’s talking about.

Either way, no prizes for guessing why he didn’t say anything before the election. If he’d made it clear that he was going to refuse any attempt to improve conditions for struggling Americans, there’s no way he’d have kept his seat… and the Georgia runoffs may have gone very differently.

While Manchin seems to have walked his opposition back slightly after being condemned for his opposition to the checks… there’s still no certainty about how he’ll actually vote if and when the checks are voted on.

It’s time for Manchin to make a decision – is he going to do the right thing and support the $2000 checks, or is he going to betray millions of Americans?
