Conservatives continue to lose trust in Amazon. Some say that the company is biased against them. Others believe that Amazon is secretly working with the liberals.
So far, we’ve seen how Amazon:
- Bought a primary healthcare company to get access to patient data
- Invaded customer privacy with Amazon Sidewalk
- Put customer’s households in danger with Amazon Key
Now, there are issues about Amazon being involved in racial discrimination. There is also news that the Big Tech company is manipulating its views and comments on Amazon Prime. There is no doubt that Amazon is a powerful force, but conservatives are losing faith in the company.
Amazon Sued for Discriminating Whites and Asians
A woman sues the Big Tech company over its programs providing “Black, Latinx, and Native American entrepreneurs” a $10,000 stipend. However, Amazon’s benefits exclude White and Asian business owners.
Crystal Bolduc filed the lawsuit. It says, “Amazon.com … engages [in] patently unlawful racial discrimination by providing a $10,000 bonus to ‘Black, Latinx, and Native American entrepreneurs. [Specifically those] who act as its delivery service partners. [However, they are] withholding this stipend from Asian-Americans… and whites who deliver Amazon packages.”
Bolduc also requests Amazon to terminate the program. Moreover, it demands the company provide damages to anyone affected. The complaint added, “Plaintiff Crystal Bolduc brings suit to enjoin Amazon.com from continuing these racially discriminatory practices… and to recover damages on behalf of everyone who has suffered unlawful racial discrimination on account of this program.”

Amazon Prime Removes Reviews of Its $1B “Lord of the Rings” Series
The Big Tech company also decided to delay reviews of its $1 billion fantasy series “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” The reason why Amazon is doing that is that they intend to filter out the negative reviews.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon said that reviews will be held for 72 hours “to help weed out trolls… and to ensure each review is legitimate.” Rotten Tomatoes released audience scores for the first two episodes of Game of Thrones. However, after a day, the critic’s score was higher than the audience’s.
The first two episodes drew more than 25 million views. There’s a chance that Amazon Prime only changed the numbers since they own the platform.
The Big Tech company could be playing with its comments and views to appear less shady…
Elon Musk has also taken issue with Amazon Prime’s series. The Tesla founder and billionaire say that the male characters were made to look weak. He tweeted, “Tolkien is turning in his grave.”
Then he added, “Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk, or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart, and nice.”
Moreover, the casting of non-white actors has sparked some outrage among certain fans. They claim that Tolkien never intended to populate Middle-Earth with actors of color.
