Gov. Ron DeSantis Continues to Expose Disney

A few months ago, we saw Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis expose the woke CEO of Disney for criticizing the Parental Rights in the Education Bill – which leftist critics call the “Don’t Say Gay Bill.”

This bill aims to ban schools from giving classroom instruction on “sexual orientation” or “gender identity” from kindergarten to third grade. Now, the patriot governor continues to face Disney head-on…

DeSantis Signed Bill Stripping Disney of Self-Governing Power

Last April, the DeSantis signed the bill to eliminate The Reedy Creek Improvement Act. It is a law – passed in May 1967 – that gives Disney its self-governing powers.

DeSantis is vocal that Disney has been receiving special treatment for decades because of this Act. He said on Fox, “What I would say as a matter of the first principle is I don’t support special privileges in law just because a company is powerful and they’ve been able to wield a lot of power.”

Then he said that Disney is becoming even more woke. DeSantis added, “Look, there are policy disputes, and that’s fine. But when you’re trying to impose a woke ideology on our state, we view that as a significant threat. This wokeness will destroy this country if we let it run unabated.”

DeSantis Exposes Disney’s Involvement with CCP

This May, Gov. DeSantis also slammed Disney for profiting off its relationship with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) without condemning its human rights abuses. It was also reported the company was filmed in China and remained silent about the ongoing Uyghur Muslim genocide.

DeSantis said, “Disney has done a lot to partner with the Chinese Communist Party and has really made a fortune over there without raising a peep about any of their atrocities.”

He also emphasized how big of a threat China is to the US. DeSantis added,  “I think China is the number one geopolitical threat that this country faces. We need to have strong alliances with the Japanese, and South Korean. I think India needs to be in our orbit to try to check China’s influence around the world, but particularly when you start talking about the Western Hemisphere, it’s a big problem. It’s not just South America, you see them in the Caribbean flexing their muscle.” 

In the same month, Disney’s Senior Communications Relations Executive Geoff Morell resigned. He also played a key role in the company’s attack on Gov. DeSantis’ Parental Rights in the Education Bill.

It seems that the liberal was not able to handle the pressure in the company. Morell said, “After three months in this new role, it has become clear to me that for a number of reasons, it is not the right fit.”

Disney should have never entered the fray here. It has hurt their brand, irritated their customer base, and gave the impression of becoming something less than wholesome entertainment. It’s great to have a leading Republican aggressively confront, challenge, and defy the lunacy of the radical left.
