Heard from Joe Biden lately? Not likely – he’s been in hiding for months at this point, seemingly only emerging to make terrible appointments for his cabinet.
One of the worst of those appointments: Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, recently selected to be part of Biden’s COVID task force. What makes him so bad?
Here’s the title of an essay he wrote just a few years ago: ‘Why I Hope to Die at 75’. That’s not a misleading title – it’s what he actually believes.
Why would someone with opinions like that be appointed to such an important position?
Does that surname sound familiar? It should – Ezekiel is brother to infamous Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel. Lucky family, or obvious nepotism?
Believe it or not, Dr. Emanuel’s views are actually even WORSE than the title of his essay sounds. Here’s another part of what he wrote in that same essay:
If “there were to be a flu pandemic, a younger person who has yet to live a complete life ought to get the vaccine or any antiviral drugs”.
As we’ve seen, COVID is devastating to the elderly… Does anyone really think we should just abandon those over 75?
Why does Dr. Emanuel think life isn’t worth living once you hit 75? Here’s his explanation, in his own words:
“Living too long… robs us of our creativity and ability to contribute to work, society, the world”.
It’s pretty telling what he prioritizes there. If you can’t work, apparently there’s no reason to keep you around…
Caveman ethics or a view being endorsed by Biden?
It’s hard to tell the difference. Life post 75 is a gift that was almost unimaginable just a few hundred years ago, not something to throw away because you’re scared of dementia and the like!
After all, you could apply Dr. Emanuel’s argument to people of just about any age. It’s always possible for things to go wrong, for an unexpected illness to completely shake up our lives.
Could it get any more embarrassing for Biden?

Thanks a lot, Dr. Emanuel! It’s good to see how you feel about the elderly. I am 76 years old. I have 2 daughters who I help occasionally and I have a teenage granddaughter who I communicate with occasionally. I also serve as a deacon in my church. I’m sure that there are many more septuagenarians whose life is just as worth living as mine.
