As of now, the Democrats have the upper hand in the midterm elections. Most of our Republicans feel frustrated because of what’s happening.
The dems won several states in the midterm elections, gaining more momentum. Let’s hope that our patriots can still turn around the situation.
Dems Won Full Control in These States
Democrats have taken complete control of state capitols in:
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
Moreover, this is the first time in 40 years that the dems wield the full power of the Michigan government.
“By all accounts, this election should have been a landslide for Republicans. Instead, their so-called red wave is looking more like a puddle,” said Jessica Post, president of the national Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee.
Shortly after, the left also won control in Minnesota… while also defending their House majority against a Republican takeover attempt. Democratic Gov. Tim Walz also won re-election in Minnesota.
Amy Koch, a former Republican Minnesota Senate majority leader, turned political strategist. She said Republicans failed to appeal to women who opposed the Supreme Court’s abortion ruling and “were just upset with the GOP brand.”
Democrats also picked up a key victory in Nevada where several things occurred, such as:
- Incumbent Democrat Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto defeated Republican challenger Adam Laxalt
- Republican Sen. Josh Hawley took to Twitter to say the Republican Party “is dead”
Hawley is among a younger group of Senate Republicans. He expressed straight opposition to current Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell.
“The old party is dead. Time to bury it. Build something new. You can’t expect independent voters to vote Republican… unless you give them an agenda they care about,” Hawley wrote.
He has been critical of the Republican Party after they failed to win in Pennsylvania, where:
- Dr. Mehmet Oz fell short of defeating Senator-elect John Fetterman
- Sen. Mark Kelly fended off Blake Masters in Arizona
“You can’t expect independent voters to vote republican unless you give them an agenda they care about,” Hawley added in a tweet.
Hawley said the Washington GOP machine “lost big” in the midterms. He also believes that the American people were not supporting their legislative priorities.
Dems to Maintain Control of the US Senate?
Democrats have a chance to maintain control of the Senate, with 50 seats compared to Republicans’ 49. One seat in Georgia has yet to be decided. This is thanks to Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto… being declared the winner in Nevada.
Democrats only needed 50 seats to keep control, as Vice President Kamala Harris can cast tie-breaking votes.
Republican candidates focused their messaging on crime, inflation, and the border crisis. In contrast, Democrats focused on protections for abortion and voting rights.
As of now, the liberals have the upper hand in the midterm elections.
Meanwhile, we have to give the Democratic Party credit. They took a guy who was at the bottom and made him president. Problems with gas prices, education, inflation, and immigration problems weren’t addressed. Yet they still win with smoke and abortion.
They are by far the best salespeople to be able to have all that and win. Republicans need to really start selling and fighting for their right to lead.
