She may wear a smile as she stands beside a crumbled podium every morning. However, that is no excuse for undermining integrity by burying truths.
Jean-Pierre’s False Claims on the Border
During a press briefing, the demo-rat defended the Biden administration’s response to the border crisis. She asserted that they have been working to secure the border since day one.
Jean-Pierre said, “We continue to see political stunts from many Republicans out there. That’s not how we’re going to fix this issue. They want to secure the border. We’ve been doing that work on our own.”
She added, “We’re asking them to. ‘Hey, you know what, there’s an immigration reform plan the president put out on the first day.’ They should work with us and do this bipartisanly.”
US Customs and Border Protection data shows that 856 illegal immigrants were killed attempting to cross into the United States in the fiscal year 2022…
Jean-Pierre’s remarks were criticized by Republicans, who accused her of lying. They believe the Biden administration needed to do more to secure the border.
Republican National Committee rapid response staffer Jake Schneider tweeted, “This might be the most egregious lie I’ve heard from this pathetic administration. Anyone with eyeballs can see Democrats haven’t done jack to secure the border.”
Moreover, Jean-Pierre is facing backlash after claiming the border is not open… with many people accusing her of gaslighting.
Jean-Pierre said, “I want to be very clear here. The fact is that the removal of Title 42 does not mean the border is open. Anyone who suggests otherwise is simply doing the work of these smugglers. [Those] who are spreading dangerous misinformation again.”
In reality, ending Title 42 would lead to 9,000 to 15,000 border crossings a day. Jean-Pierre argued that these reports and the potential end of Title 42 do not suggest the border is open… and attacked anyone claiming to be “spreading misinformation.”
Jean-Pierre Unable to Describe What Harris is Doing on Immigration
The White House said this month that it could not describe what Kamala Harris is doing to address the “root cause” of the border crisis.
“I don’t have anything to lay out specifically on what that work looks like,” Jean-Pierre said when asked about Harris’s role at a briefing.
Jean-Pierre refuses to answer that question correctly. Moreover, she declined to answer the question… since it would show that Harris isn’t doing anything about the borders.
